Deep Sea Fishing Fort Lauderdale

Today we fished with a family from just outside of Atlanta Georgia who were down for their daughter’s Madelyn soft ball game.

We had Zack and his wife Angela along with Madelyn, Dakota and Bentley.

Truth being told here fishing has been reel slow for the last week so we figured starting out with some bottom fishing and BAM great some amber jacks along with a almaco jacks were biting so we managed to catch everyone some fish.

Zack (dad) spent most of the trip upstairs on the fly bridge just shooting the breeze with me and he did say he had never hooked into a sailfish.

So at the end of the trip we decided to fly out kite with live baits suspended from the kite along with a couple bottom baits out and shoot for the bleachers.

I let Zack know that we had only caught 1 sailfish that week and that the odds were against us but what the heck might as well give it a shot.

Well I’m sure you know where I’m going with this.

Ha there he was and yep Zack caught his first sailfish.

After a few quick photos we released the sail by holding his bill and slowly dragged his around for a couple on minutes and he swam away in great shape to fight again another day.

To the whole Carey family thanks for fishing with us aboard the Hooked Up and we are looking forward to fishing again soon.
