  • Is the person you are talking to or exchanging email with the person you will be spending your day on the ocean with or is it just someone trying to talk you into going fishing? You should make sure the person you are talking to and developed a relationship with is the same person you will be fishing with. Unfortunately, there are some in this industry who talk to you on the phone or through email who will put you with someone else when the time to fish comes. This may not be the best for you, your friends and family. It is best when you get to fish with the person you have established the relationship with.
  • Is the Ft. Lauderdale charter boat you will be fishing on fully air-conditioned? Here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, it is nice to be able to escape the heat and relax in the cool air conditioning when the afternoon is hot.
  • Will the crew be happy to clean and package the fish you caught for you?
  • If you reserve a fishing charter boat and the weather turns bad, what is the boats policy for refunding your deposit?

If the Captain you like is booked ask them for a recommendation for another boat, they will be more than happy to hook you up with another good captain.
