Capt Taco and Brenden also had an 8 hour trip today with Chip and his wife from Charlotte North Carolina. Having plenty of time to fish a few different we started trolling. After a few hours we found the fish box becoming more full by the minute. We caught three nice Mahi Mahi a bunch of Blackfin Tunas, and a few Bonitas. Looking to try something different we set up in 350 feet of water to do a little shark fishing. It only took about 30 minutes before our rod bent over and started screaming out drag. After a 35 minute fight we finally landed the beautiful Golden Hammerhead shark. With a couple hours left we put the trolling lines back out along with one big marlin lure and headed off shore hoping out luck would continue and boy did it ever. Brenden spotted the fish first as it crashed the lure and started peeling off line while jumping all over the ocean. It was a big Blue Marlin. The fight lasted about 20 minutes with countless amount of acrobatics before we were able to grab the leader and successfully release the 200 pound marlin. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the day. Thank you Chip for fishing on the Hooked Up 3 and congratulations on a trip that we will remember for years to come.
