Today we fished with Michael, his son Brayden, Ben, Bri, Adam and Luca all from Michigan.
We started out trolling looking for some black fin tunas or some Mahia mahia witch is what was on Brayden’s bucket list.
While we did not get into the black fins we did hook into a Mahia for Brayden.
Nice going enjoy your dinner Brayden.
Than we set our kites out with live baits suspended from them.
All of a sudden someone yelled out SHARK!!!
And sure enough here comes this 6-foot hammerhead shark hot after one of our baits.
After a few min of trying to catch one of our live baits BAM we were Hooked Up and Ben and his son jumped in the chair and the fight was on.
After a good 30 to 40 min of fighting this shark I knew something was wrong I knew their was no way this was as hard as it was to get this shark to the boat.
After a 2 hour fight FINALLY Ben got this hammerhead shark next to the boat.
As our mate Mark reached for the leader we seen this shark was hooked in the dorsal fin!!!
Yep that explained it BUT BEN you are one hell of an angler nice going.
After a few quick photos (And if you look closely and the photo you can see the hook in the dorsal fin) we reeled this hammerhead to fight again another day.
