January is finally here and in the last 25 years that I’ve been fishing these waters off the coast of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm beach I have found that with these cold fronts in the winter come the sail fish in BIG numbers.

As a local fisherman I’ve got to admit that while this may be my job I can’t say enough about how much I love getting up in the morning knowing I’m going to spend the day fishing for these beautiful fish.

These cold fronts seem to move all the bait fish to the South right into my back yard off the coast of Fort Lauderdale!

Now these bait fish are all followed by you guessed it sail fish along with a host of other big game fish such as Hammer Head Sharks Smoker kings Black fin Tunas just to name a few.
