Today we had Ray and his son Andrew from Conn down for a little deep-sea fishing aboard the Hooked up off the coast of Fort Lauderdale.
We started out trolling the reef with 2 deep lines and 3 top baits and today fishing was good. We ended up trolling up a couple kingfish a box full of bonitos a couple of small black fin tunas and one nice 12-pound black fin.
We finished off the day with some kite fishing with live baits suspended from the kite while we also had a shark bait down deep to help increase our odds of getting a big bite.
Kite fishing was slow so we decided to call it a day when all of a sudden a sailfish popped up on our live bait as we were reeling all the baits in. Within seconds I could see this sail had gotten wrapped up in the leader and was just sitting there shaking his head back and forth what we call windshield wiping. (Not a good thing)
Well needless to say this one got away but all the same we went home with a good box full of fish for dinner.

Ray and Andrew thanks again you guys were a pleasure to fish with and we hope to fish with you guys again soon.
