Sail Fishing in South Florida
Well here we are on the last day of Jan and finally we had a cold front and this should mean (SAILFISH!!)
We headed out fishing with Jean, Marie, Nyan and Melissa all from Victoriaville, Quebec Canada.
We stopped by the live bait boat on our way out and picked up a bunch of goggle eyes (live bait) than headed right out to 150 feet of water and set out 2 kites with 2 live baits suspended from each kite.
It only took a couple of min before our first sailfish showed up rather I mean the first couple of sails and BAM just like that we were fighting 2 sails at the same time.
A good 25 min later we had both sails next to the boat and released. Within seconds Captain J.J. got all the baits back out on the kites and BAM again connected anther sailfish. Once again a good release and back to getting the baits back out there.
This went on and on we ended up seeing a total of 10 sailfish and caught 5 of them. Baring in mind we seen 10 but we got 5 bites and caught all 5.
Now that’s a good morning of deep-sea fishing aboard the Hooked Up off the coast of South Florida.
