Today we had Jeff and Kathy out for a few hour of deep-sea fishing aboard the Hooked Up off the coast of Fort Lauderdale.
We set out our kites with 3 live baits and one dead shark bait all suspended from the kites. We also set out a shark bait down 150 feet and last but not least a bottom bait 350 feet down.
Our first bite turned out to be a 4-foot remora. This has to be one of the biggest remoras we’ve ever caught.
Than all of a sudden one of our shark rods bent over and all hell broke lose. We were Hooked Up with a big sea monster.
After a 30 min back and forth tug a war up popped this 7-foot hammerhead shark.
We were able to get 2 out of the 3 hooks out of him and watched him swim away in great shape.
Jeff and Kathy thanks again and we’re looking forward to fishing with you guys again.
