August 2009

Aug 2

July is behind us and here we go into another action packed August.
We started out August fishing with Phil, Jacky and Steve all from Orlando Florida.
We started out trolling the reef trying to catch a few king fish and bonitos but what we ended up with was a box full of bonitos and our limit of king fish in no time. Than we worked our way to a ship wreck and set out a couple of live baits over the wreck and I’ve got to say the barracudas were snapping. They ended up catching 4 barracudas and one of them was a monster.
As we pulled back to the dock we had our afternoon trip there waiting for us and after them seeing the catch we had had in our morning trip expectations were high and we had a hard act to follow.
Once we got Cheryl, Steve, Brad and Brent all from Alberta Canada aboard we headed right back for the reef to see if we could do it again. Once we got all of our trolling gear set out there the fun began. The kings and bonitos were not biting like they were in our morning trip they were biting even better and the action was pretty much none stop. Once again we had our limit of kings and a box full of bonitos we worked our way back to the same wreck we had fished this morning. We set out our live baits and started working our way around the ship wreck and (BAM) once again the barracudas were there and biting. This afternoon they seemed to be even bigger fish. We only caught 2 but they were both over 50 inches long.
What a great way to start off August thanks again to all of our anglers today.

Today we had people from all over the country fishing aboard the Hooked Up.
We had Mike and his 6 year old son Jack from Jasonville, Joe and Marlene from Houston Texas, Ron from right down here in Fort Lauderdale Florida and Joe from Kissimmee Florida.
We set out our 2 planers running about 45 to 50 feet deep and we also set out 3 surface baits and started trolling down the reef. As it turned out we had made the right move the king fish and bonitos were snapping and everyone caught plenty of fish. We had our limit of king fish and I’m not sure how many bonitos we ended up catching but let’s just say that there were so many the our mate Captain J.J. was giving Captain Greg a look that could kill (LOL)
What a fun action packed morning of fishing thanks again to all of our anglers today.

Today we had a family from Lakeland Florida Steve, Heather, Casey and Heather all out for a morning of deep sea fishing.
Once again we went right to where we knew the fish had been biting on the reef. We set out our trolling gear and yes once again the kings and bonitos were biting. Everyone had caught fish when all of a sudden we got a bite that was bigger than all the others. Casey jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It took Casey a good 7 to 10 min to finally reel in his catch. It turned out to be a nice barracuda. Nice going Casey. Thanks again guys for a fun filled morning of fishing and we are looking forward to fishing you guys again in Jan when the sail fish are here.

Today we set out for a morning of fishing with Becky and Blake from British Columbia Canada and Dan from San Antonio Texas.
We set out 2 planner boards about 45 to 50 feet deep and 3 bonito’s strips skipping across the surface. And once again the kings and bonitos did not let us down. They were biting like mad dogs and everyone one caught a lot of fish. We ended up with our limit of king fish and a box full of bonitos.
Fishing action has been pretty much none stop on the reef lately and the sail fish are just starting to show up so give us a call and let’s get you HOOKED UP

Today we had Neal who is in the service based out of San Antonio Texas down here in sunny South Florida visiting his girl friend Kimmie and they decided to spend the day deep sea fishing aboard the Hooked Up.
We started out trolling the reef catching some king fish and bonitos. Things were going good and we were catching fish but they were really looking for some good eating fish for a fish fry later on today. Now we knew that there has not been a lot of dolphin fish caught lately but Neal said he had plenty of beer to drink and if we found them great and if not O Well he had plenty of beer to drink. (LOL)
So off shore we went hoping for the best. We were trolling off shore for a good 30 min when all of a sudden we heard Captain Greg yell from the cockpit (there he is!) As I turned around I saw this blue marlin trying to eat one of our baits. It only took a couple of shots at our bait then faded off into the deep blue but what a sight and I had a good feeling that we just might find some fish off shore after all.
As we worked our way further off shore we found a good weed line and we started working down the line. I think that Neal had gone down stairs to use the bathroom due to all the beer he was drinking when all of a sudden there was a big splash by one of our baits line started peeling off the reel and we were Hooked Up. Since Neal was nowhere to found Kimmie jumped in the chair and the fight was on. By the time Neal came back outside Kimmie was fighting this monster dolphin fish and all there was for Neal to do was to cheer her on. It was a back and forth tug a war for a good 15 min before Kimmie got her fish close enough for Captain Greg to get a gaff into him. Nice fish Kimmie a 24 pound dolphin. We were all feeling good now well almost all of us Neal was a bit disappointed he did not get a shot at catching this one but hey we still had some time left and the way thing were going for us we figured we’d get another shot at some more dolphin fish.
As luck would have it we did get another shot as a matter a fact we got covered up with dolphin and we ended up catching 3 more dolphins at the same time.
Neal and Kimmie thanks again for a fun day of fishing and we’re looking forward to fishing with you guys again soon.

Today we had a bunch of guys from Sebring Florida down to celebrate one of their friends Birthday. It was Jeff’s birthday and Tom, Michelle, Todd, Paul and Eric thought that was a good enough reason to come on down to South Florida and do a bit of fishing.
All of these guys had done their share of fishing in the past and they were really looking for some good eating fish. So once again we started out on the reef doing some trolling for king fish and bonitos. After a good hour of trolling the reef and catching some kings and bonitos we decided to give fishing off shore for dolphin fish a shot.
So off shore we headed but the further off shore we got the more boats we seen and the water still did not look that good. We decided it was time to change plans.
If the bottom fish were biting we told them we would catch more than enough fish for their fish fry. As luck would have it we went over a ship wreck and dropped a chicken rig all the way down to the bottom. For those of you who might not know what a chicken rig is it’s 8 foot leader with a lead at the bottom and 6 hooks tied in a row above the lead just far enough away from each other so they can’t touch each other this way they don’t get all tangled up.
We dropped our rig to the bottom and right away the rod started bouncing all over the place and we knew we were getting bites and had found the right spot to fish.
We ended up catching more than enough snappers for dinner.
Guys thanks again for a great day and Jeff once again Happy Birthday and enjoy dinner guys.

Today we had two dads with their sons fishing aboard the Hooked Up. We had Tom and his son Nick and Mike and his son Nick they were all from Philly.
We intended to troll the reef to catch some king fish and bonitos but what we got was that the reef was so full of bonitos that no other fish had a chance at getting to our baits. I do know how many bonitos we ended up with but I will say more than we wanted. We tried fishing a bit deeper and then we tried fishing closer to shore with no getting out of them. We did manage to catch one nice barracuda but all in all everyone had a great time reeling fish in one after another.
Thanks again guys now go home and rest those arms (LOL)

Today we had a father and son team Bill and Trey from Dallas Texas and Rossi and Sonny from Ohio.
We headed right out to the reef about 2 miles off the coast
of fort Lauderdale and started trolling with two lines down deep and three on the surface. Once again the kings and bonitos did not let us down. Then after everyone had caught fish we went to a ship wreck in about 110 feet of water and set out a couple of live baits on a wire leader and caught a big barracuda.
Thanks again Guys.

Today we got to the dock with no trips on the books but at the last second a guy named Herman from Stanford Ct walked up and was looking to do some fishing for a few hours. As we were getting the boat ready Herman walked down to the store to get a few things for his trip and came back with his wife Antonia and his two grandsons Herman and Isaiah.
So off we went heading straight for the reef again knowing that we had a good shot at catching everyone some fish pretty quickly. And yes once again the reefs paid off for us and we caught plenty of king fish and bonitos. Now that everyone had caught fish in fact some of them were getting tired of reeling them in we decided to go for a big fish.
We went to a ship wreck that lied about 210 feet of water and we sent down a live bait. The bait hit the bottom and the rod bent over. That’s right that fast as soon as it hit bottom we were Hooked Up.
Little Herman jumped in the chair and the fight was on. The only problem was that this fish was winning this fight it was all little Herman could do to hold on to the rod. Ok time to make a few adjustments here. We got little Herman to get up for a second and Big Herman sat in the chair and than Little Herman got in his lap AND NOW THE FIGHT WAS ON. What a ball!! It was a back and forth tug a war for a good 15 min but at last the Herman’s got this monster amberjack to the surface.
This fish weighed over 45 pounds WAY TO GO Herman.
I would love to post this great shot we got of Herman and this fish that was bigger than him but we are still waiting for Big Herman to send us the picture.
Thanks guys for such a fun day on the water.

About 2 weeks ago I got a call from a Susan out of Wisconsin who after talking to her a bit turns out that she grew up down here in Ft Lauderdale and was going to be here in town with a bunch of her coworkers and was looking to set up a fishing trip. So far so good right? Well as it turned out she went to a high school down here that was a big ravel to the high school I went to. The reason I am writing all this down is because somehow I had to get a shot at her during our fishing trip but I’ll get to that later.
Ok so Susan brought along Liz from New Orland’s and her daughter Katie from Baton rouge La she also brought along John and Joy from my home town New Jersey and last but not least Akbar from Dallas Texas.
So we set out for the reef the same as we had been doing all week in search of some king fish and bonitos but today was a little different and the current had stopped and so had the fish. We trolled for over an hour without a bite. Time to make a change and we needed to make a change fast because John was not feeling all that good nor was Katie.
I worked our way over to a ship wreck and dropped a live bait down to the bottom and from there it did not take long. The rod bent over and I went ahead with the boat trying to drag the fish away from the wreck before he got a chance to get us back into the wreck. Once we got far enough away from the wreck it was time for me to get my shot into Susan and she got in the fighting chair. I’ve got to say that by the sounds coming out of Susan I got my revenge she got her butt kicked. It was a big back and forth tug a war for over 15 min but I must admit she hung in there and ended up landing a 50 pound amber jack. (Way To Go Susan) At this point John was starting to turn all different shades of green and I knew that we would only have time for one more drop. Once again as soon as we hit bottom we got Hooked Up and this time Akbar jumped in the chair and again the fight was on. This one only took Akbar about 5 min to reel in and it turned out to be about a 15 pound amber jack.
I think I could have gotten John to give me a million $$$$ dollars to bring him back in but everyone agreed and we headed back to the dock.
Susan Thanks again so much you were a ball to fish with and John thanks for hanging in there remember no more foot long hot dogs before you go fishing.(LOL)

Today was a real family affair we had grandparents Elaine and Richard from Detroit Michigan and mom Sherri from Davie Florida daughters Ally and Christen also from Davie and their good friend Morgan also from Davie Florida.
We started out trolling the reef with a couple of lines running down deep about 45 to 50 feet down and three lines skipping across the surface.
Once again the reef trolling paid off for us we ended up with a box full of a bonito and three barracudas.

Aug 19

Today the wind was blowing about 10 to 15 knots and we had a fishing trip with a family from New Mexico ready to go out for some deep sea fishing. We had Joe, Corey, Jessica and Kelly.
We started out on the reef doing some trolling for king fish and bonitos. Everything started out as planned we had caught a few kings and bonitos when I noticed that Joe was looking over the side of the boat. I guess he was trying to find some fish but I’m sorry to say that he was not looking for fish he was looking for land. It seemed the rocking off the boat got to him and he was not feeling the best he had ever felt. I got to give Joe credit he never once complained to anyone but after a good hour of watching him just not having any fun the dissension was made to good ahead and call it a day.
Just as we turned the boat back toward home and we were reeling up the lines we got a bite. Since Joe was in the chair right next to the rod we had the bite on we handed the rod to him. Next thing we knew this big sailfish came jumping out of the water and Joe was Hooked Up. Joe ended up reeling the sail fish just too where the leader was touching the rod tip and at that point the fish made one more jump and got away.
At least everyone got to see him and we were all glad that after Joe not feeling well for the last 3 hours at least he did get to fight a sail fish.
Thanks again guys and next time the Hooked Up owes you an extra hour on the house.

Aug 20

Today we had a shared charter by Daniel from Boca Raton who had is father Edd in town visiting from Israel and we had Jim and Misty from Bloomington Illinois. We started once again trolling the reef for kings and bonitos. Fishing was good on the reef and everyone had caught fish in no time so we decided since we had good north current and the water was as blue as it gets we wanted to try some kite fishing. We don’t do as much kite fishing this time of the year but it looked so good and since we had not done any kite fishing in quite some time we gave it a shot. So in came all of the trolling gear and out went the kites with live baits suspended from them.
It seemed that just as we got done explaining to everyone how the kites worked we seen a big splash by one of our baits. All of a sudden one of the rods bent over and line was peeling off the reel. We decided lady’s first so without any hesitation Misty jumped in the chair and the fight was on. We seen the fish thrashing all over the surface but at first we could not make out what kind of fish it was. But Misty hung in there and ended up landing a monster barracuda. Nice going Misty.
Captain J.J. got a new live bait set right back out there and then he went ahead and sent a dead bonito hooked onto a big rod down to the bottom. Usually when we send a shark bait out we are fishing in about 350 feet of water but today we were in 120 feet of water but what the heck maybe J.J. knew something I didn’t.

Once J.J. got the live baits all set out there all of a sudden while everyone was watching the kite baits I yelled at J.J. watch out for your deep rod. No sooner did the words get out of my mouth when our BIG rod bent over and line was peeling off the reel as if it was connected to a freight train.
This time Jim was in the chair waiting for J.J. to hand him the rod but there was a little problem. The rod was bent over and line was screaming off the reel so hard that J.J. could not get the rod out of the rod holder. After a couple of min the fish settled down a bit and J.J. got the rod to Jim in the chair and now the fight was on. We had no idea what kind of fish it was on the other end all we knew for sure was that it was a shark but as far as what kind and how big well let’s just say we knew it was going to be BIG.
We knew right away that this fight was going to take quite some time and Jim was doing all he could just to hold onto the rod when all of a sudden I seen a big splash out by one of our kite baits and now line was screaming off one of our kite rods. GREAT SCOTT now we are HOOKED UP with two big fish at the same time. Daniel wasted no time jumping in the chair and now this fight was on. Both anglers were doing their best to get their fish to the boat when J.J. seen that the two fish were about to cross over each other. So J.J. got them to stand up and Daniel went under Jim’s rod and sat on the opposite side of the boat and the fish were both going in different directions. Ok now we had Daniels fish at the boat it turned out to be a nice barracuda. J.J. got Daniels fish in the boat got a couple quick pictures and watched him swam away in good shape. One down and one to go.
All of a sudden Jim’s fish came to the surface right behind the boat a MONSTER Hammer Head Shark.
By the time we got Jim’s shark to the side of the boat he was pretty tired I mean the shark and Jim (LOL)
J.J. opened the door in the back of the boat and we all helped sliding this 102 inch Hammer head shark into the boat. We got a quick measurement and a few quick pictures and J.J. managed to get not only all the hooks out of the sharks month but we also got another hook out of the side of his head that someone else had put there. Then we slid him out the door and watched him swim away in great shape.
Thanks to all of our anglers this morning we had a ball fishing with you guys and we are going to hold you to it and looking forward to fishing with you again soon.
Ok so back to the dock we headed for our afternoon trip. This afternoon we had Paul and Marlene from the Bronx in New York and we had a tough act to follow after all the luck we had on our morning trip.
We went right back to trolling the reef knowing that the kingfish and bonitos were biting. We had our limit of king fish in no time and the bonitos just kept biting like mad dogs. Than we got a bite that was a bit different than the others and sure enough it was a sailfish it came jumping out of the water and Marlene jumped in the chair and the fight was on.
It was a back and forth tug a war for over 15 min but at last Marlene got this nice sailfish to the side of the boat. J.J. tried to get the hook out of the fish’s mouth but the fish was just a bit too frisky next to the boat and J.J. decided it was going to do more harm to the fish than just cutting the line close to the hook and just let the hook rust out.
What a great day of fishing and now we are hearing about more and more sailfish being seen so come on down to Sunny South Florida and be a part of some of this great fishing going on down here right now!!

I’ve got to start out by saying that this time I dropped the ball. It seems I cannot find my notes for fishing today’s trips today but I do know that we started out with Chuck and some of his coworkers from Atlanta Ga.
We trolled down the reef and our first fish was a king fish and than our second fish was a half of a king fish because a big barracuda ate it right behind the boat. If you look closely I tried to get a picture of the barracuda eating the king behind the boat.
We did end up with a box full of king fish and a few bonitos.
This afternoon we had Kendall and his friend who once and sorry I don’t have his name but I do know that they were down here in South Florida on business and made time for their first time ever fishing out in the Atlantic ocean.
Things started out just as they have everyday trolling the reef catching king fish and bonitos. Since we only had 2 anglers aboard we got our limit of kings in no time. So I decided to try some trolling out in the deep. We trolled around for some time without a bite. Then I seen a sail fish just free jumping not far from the boat. I got over to where I had seen the sail as quick as I could but never did see him again. After about 10 min of trolling the area Captain Greg said he had seen him swimming down deep. So we worked the area some more and sure enough he popped up on one of our baits. Greg let him eat the bait and we were Hooked Up.
Kendall wasted no time jumping in the chair and the fight was on. It took a good 10 min before Kendall got his catch close to the boat. The sail did make one last try to shake the hook and finally managed to get off the hook just as Greg grabbed the leader. That was fine once Greg grabbed the leader it was a catch.
Nice going Kendall and to all of our anglers today thanks so much and sorry for not having everyone’s names.
Fishing is starting to go off down here in South Florida so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up.

What a fun day of fishing today was!
It all started when a young lady Micki from Westin Florida called me and chartered the boat for this morning. She had brought along 5 of her 6 children. That’s right 5 of the 6 where I come from we call this a heard. (LOL) Micki brought Sam her only daughter and Alex, Ryan, Daniel and Aaron. Now I am a parent and I feel safe saving that most kids are ether smart or tough but these kids were both smart and tough. I could not believe some of the questions that Daniel was asking and he not only asked questions he unlike most adults waited for the answers. And Aaron not only being a gymnast who had broken his arm in I don’t know how many places was also a karate fighter.
Ok so back to the fishing we started out trolling the reef and the king fish and bonitos were just plain BITING and we were catching them left and right. We worked our way down to the south to a ship wreck in about 110 feet of water. Once we were getting close to the wreck we had caught a bonito and we kept him alive and brought in all the trolling gear and set out this frisky live bonito with 3 big hooks in him and slowly trolled him over the ship wreck. From there it did not take long till it got CRASHED by a monster barracuda and we were Hooked Up.
Aaron had not left the side of the rods since we started our trip so it was only right to let him get first shot. Aaron jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It took a good 10 min till he finally got his fish to the boat. That’s a big Barracuda
Nice going Aaron things were looking great except for one thing. As it turned out Daniel did not want to be shown up by his brother and we had no more live bonitos.
So instead of trying the same wreck again we went a little further south to another ship wreck that sat about 225 feet down and this time we sent a blue runner down to the bottom.
I’ve got to say that this was one of those days that we could do no wrong. The second we got the bait down the rod bent over and line started peeling off the reel and yes once again we were Hooked Up.
This time Daniel jumped in the chair and the fight was on. This one took a little longer to get to the boat but once Daniel got this big amber jack to the boat it was all worth it.
Micki and the rest of the gang thanks soooo much for a great morning of fishing and laughing.
Once we got back to the dock we did not have an afternoon trip but I had such a ball during our morning trip and I was just shooting the breeze with everyone that came down the dock when all of a sudden a Daniel and Helene just happen to drive up to the boat. I just started talking to them about fishing and while they were not thinking about going fishing they decided that it just might be a fun thing to try. So off we went with our new friends from Montreal Canada for a little deep sea fishing.
Truth be told fishing was not as good as it had been in our morning trip but I don’t think in all my years of fishing I’ve seen two people happier to be out on a boat and catching a few king fish and bonitos.
Daniel and Helene thanks a bunch and as I said on the boat we seemed to have hooked you guys on fishing more than hooking fish so we are looking forward to fishing with you this January.
To everyone that fished with us today thanks so much for reminded me why I fish for a living.

Today we started out our day fishing with Rick and Debbie from Ohio and Jim and MaryAnn from Pittsburg. We trolled the reef and once again the reef did not let us down. The king fish and bonitos were eating the bottom of the boat out. We could hardly get all the lines in the water at the same time without one of the other bait getting hit.
All the kings were about 7 to 10 pounds with one being a bit bigger than the rest it weighed about 18 pounds along with a box full of bonitos we all kept busy and had a ball.
As we pulled back to the dock to pick up our afternoon trip we had Charles, C.J. and C.W. waiting on us. After seeing the catch we had from our morning trip they were all excited and ready to fish. And once again the reef paid off big for us. We had our limit of king fish in no time along with a box full of bonitos again. We also tried some deep drops for some snappers but the current was going so fast that we only caught a couple snappers.
All in all everyone that fished on the Hooked Up today had a ball and we’re looking forward to fishing with you all again soon for sail fish.

Today we had Chad and Zack from North Carolina out for a morning of deep sea fishing.
Once again we trolled the reef and once again the reef was holding some fish but I am sorry to say that today we had some south current and the fish just were not biting as well as they had been. We did still end up catching a few king fish and bonitos but they just were not biting like they had been all week. But we did get lucky and also caught a BIG barracuda.
Thanks again Chad and Zack for a fun morning of fishing and we hope to see you guys again soon for sail fish season.

Today we had a family of Coon asses from Louisiana we had Dad Poncho mom Maria their son Rusty and their daughter who’s name we never got and her boyfriend Ryan.
And what a great day of fishing it turned out to be.
We started out trolling the reef catching king fish and bonitos one after another. Than we worked our way down to a ship wreck and set out a live bonito and got hooked up into a monster barracuda in no time. Rusty jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It took Rusty a good 10 min to finally get his fish to the boat. We got a quick picture and watched him swam away in good shape.
Than we worked our way down a little further to another ship wreck and this time we dropped a live blue runner down about 225 feet to the bottom and BAM we got Hooked Up again. This time Ryan got in the chair and the battle was on. This one was a big back and forth tug a war for over 15 min till Ryan finally got his catch to the boat. It turned out to be giant amber jack. Way to go Ryan.
Ok by this time Mom had enough of watching and it was time for her to try her luck at fighting one of these bull dogs of the Atlantic. So once again we dropped a live blue runner to the bottom and BAM once again we were Hooked Up. Maria jumped in the chair and now she was yelling and hooting and having a ball. With a little help from the rest of the gang she finally got her big amber jack to the boat.
At this point we were so far from our inlet that we decided to troll out a bit deeper and a bit faster to work our way back toward the port. We got the first deep rod set when all of a sudden the line started peeling off the reel. Holy cow at this rate we were never going to make it back to our inlet. This time it turned out to be a nice black fin tuna.
Well they said they wanted some fish they could eat I think they got enough for the rest of the year.
Thanks again for a great fun filled morning of fishing guys and we are looking forward to fishing you guys again in the winter months.
If you’re thinking about coming to South Florida to do some fishing well nows the time fish are biting as good as it gets so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up.

Aug 28

Ok so today we started out fishing with Steve, Jess, and Laura from Minnesota Andria and Jim from right down here in Ft Lauderdale and last but not least Charlie from Phoenix Arizona.
Once again we started out trolling the reef and today the king fish and bonitos were biting so good that at one point Captain Greg looked at me as if to say (give me a break)
Finally we decided that enough was enough and we brought in all of our trolling gear and went to a wreck and dropped a live bait down on the wreck. It seemed we could do no wrong today because the second the live bait got to the bottom the rod bent over and line was peeling off the reel. Steve jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It was a big tug a war for over 10 min but at last Steve got his big amber jack to the boat.
What a morning of deep sea fishing and the last thing we wanted was for our afternoon trip to see how many fish we had caught on our morning trip. But as luck would have it as we got back to the dock and hung up all these fish for a picture here comes our afternoon trip. Now we had a hard act to follow.
So we got the boys from Alabama aboard and headed back out.
As it turned out all of these guys grew up together and had all gotten together here in Sunny South Florida to celebrate Moses getting married. So along with Trey, Will and Cedric we headed right back to the reef where we had left the fish biting earlier in the day. And yes they were still biting and we were catching king fish and bonitos one after another. I mean it was none stop action to the point where they were telling each other that it was their turn and not mine. These guys were getting tired of catching fish when all of a sudden I seen a sail fish trying to eat one of our surface baits. We finally got a hook in him and Trey wasted no time jumping in the chair.
It was a back and forth fight for over 20 min but finally trey got his fish next to the boat.
We wanted to try to get the hook out of the fish but he never settled down and we figured he’d be better off if we just cut the leader right next to the hook and just let it rust out and not take a chance on the fish hitting his head against the boat.
We ended up catching so many fish that with about 45 min left of fishing they all said they had enough. Now that is something that does not happen every day.
To all of our tired anglers today thanks so much and give us a call soon so we can wear you out again (LOL)
Fishing has just been great so give us a call and let’s get you HOOKED UP

Today we had a couple of customers who have fished with us in the past and decided to give it another shot and we made it worth their while.
We had Collin, Kim and David out for a morning of deep sea fishing. And yes once again we started out trolling the reef and once again we were not let down. It didn’t take long till we had our limit of king fish and went right to fishing one of our deep wrecks out in front of Port Everglades.
Once we got our live bait down to the bottom it did not take long till the rod bent over and we were Hooked Up. Collin jumped in the chair and the battle began. It was a good 10 min tug a war till Collin finally got his catch to the boat a nice big fat amber jack. We got the hook out of the fish released all the air that was trapped in his belly from being brought up from the deep got a couple of quick pictures and watched him swam away in great shape.
Well that was too easy so we decided to try it again and once again once we got the live bait to the bottom it did not take long before once again the rod bent over and we were Hooked Up again. This time Kim jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It was another good 10 to 12 min before Kim got her catch to the surface and once again a big fat amber Jack.
Way to go guys by the end of our trip we had a box full of king fish and we had also caught two nice barracudas and two big amber jacks.
Not a bad way to start out our day and now we’ve got to get back to the dock pick up our afternoon trip and see if we can do it again.
This afternoon we had Gina, Mercy, Karen Triad and Kristen all from Ft Lauderdale. That’s right 1 guy with 4 girls and these folks were looking to catch some fish and have a good time. That’s just what happen we ended up catching 12 king fish, 5 bonitos and 2 barracudas and everyone had a ball.
Thanks again guys for a fun great day of fishing and we are all looking forward to fishing with you guys again soon.
