Today we had a shared charter with Chad from Buffalo New York and Wayne and his son Jack, Emma and Hanna all from Alabama. We started out trolling the reef and everyone got to catch some king fish. Than we pulled in all the trolling gear and set out our kites with live baits suspended from them and we also set out a couple of shark baits. One down about 150 feet with a dead king fish and last but not least was a dead king fish set down on the bottom 350 down. It took a bit of waiting but all at once our deep rod bent over and line was peeling off the reel as if it would never stop. Chad had let everyone know that he was very interested in having a big game fish mounted so we all decided to give him first shot at whatever it was that was taking all this line off the reel. Once we got Chad in the chair there really was not much he could do the fish was just taking line at will. But after a few min the fish did finally settle down and Chad did start to slowly but surely gain a bit of line back. It was a big back and forth tug a war for a long time but at last Chad finally got this monster hammer head shark to the boat. Once at the boat we knew we had to get a measurement of Chad’s big catch in order to have the taxidermy make a replica trophy of his fish. So J. J opened the tuna door in the back of the boat and somehow got this big hammer head shark to slide in for a quick measurement and than somehow slid him right back out the door to fight another day. Nice job J.J and Chad. What a way to start out the new month. June is here and so are the kingfish, Sharks and dolphin fish so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up. Today we had our old customer/friend Mads from Oslo Norway fishing with us and he brought along his brother in law Karl and his good friend Anders. While I knew that Mads had caught a lot of fish in the past and I also knew that he was only interested in going after Big Game I knew that Karl and Anders were happy just catching any fish. So I decided to start out trolling on the reef. And today the kings were biting well. Everyone got to catch some fish before going after the big one. Once we had all caught enough king fish and bonitos we brought in all of the trolling gear and out went our kites with live baits suspended from them followed by one dead king fish down about 150 feet and one last shark bait down on the bottom. Now the trap was set and all we needed was for some kind of a big sea monster to swim up and eat one of our baits. We waited for about 2 min and all of a sudden I seen our balloon with a king fish on the other end about 150 feet down disappear and we were Hooked Up. Anders had heard about some of the big fish that Mads had caught and he had also seen some of his fish hanging on his wall at home and he wanted a shot a catching a big trophy game fish to hang on his wall. Having said that Anders jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It was a big back and forth tug a war for a good 25 min till Anders finally got this MONSTER Sand Bar shark to the boat. At first we were not even sure about what kind of shark this was. I have caught a lot of sand bar sharks in the past but they all seem to be about the same size. They are all cut out of the same mold between 55 to 70 inches but not this one. This fish was so big that we knew that we were going to have to slide him into the tuna door to get a good measurement of him and we also wanted to see if we could get the hooks out of him in order for him to have a good chance of making it after we released him. As it turned out all three hooks were way down in his stomach and no one was willing to stick their hands in there to get them out. This SEA MONSTER turned out to be 107 inches long and I would guess 225 pounds. We cut the leader as close to his mouth as we could and slide him right back out the door. Our intent is not to kill these fish so they can live to fight another day and the taxidermy does NOT need the fish in order to have a replica mount made of the fish. But all the same I’m not to sure how well this one made out but what I do know is that he has a better chance than he does lying dead in the boat. Holly Cow what a catch way to go Anders. Ok now that everyone had caught fish we were looking good and still had some time left so since we still had most of our baits still out there we decided to just stay right where we were and see if we could catch Karl a big fish. This time it took a bit of waiting but within 30 min once again our balloon went under and we were Hooked Up again. This time Karl jumped in the chair and he had his hands full. He had a good 20 min of back and forth but at last he got his catch up to the side of the boat. This one turned out to be a golden hammer head shark. We were not going to get a measurement of this one so we managed to get 2 out of the 3 hooks out of him and he swam away in great shape. At this point we still had our kites out with the live goggles suspended from them and we figured if it ante broke don’t fix it so while we did not put out any more big shark baits we did still have our live baits out there and we figured maybe a sail fish or a dolphin fish might just swim up and eat one of our live baits. We were all talking and high fiving and not really paying that much attention to the baits when all of a sudden I seen another small golden hammer head shark after one of our live baits. We were going to pull the bait out of the water when our mate Captain Tommy Copper yelled out that he had put wire leaders on all the kite baits. Seconds after that this shark ate the bait and now Mads was standing up fighting his shark. He was really putting it to this shark when all of a sudden the line went slack. (RATS) As it turned out the shark had broken our #6 wire and got away. BUT WAIT A MIN just as Mads reeled in his slack line I seen a big splash by our left long kite bait and line was just screaming off the reel. Mads graded the rod and once again he was Hooked Up. This time it turned out to be a big black fin tuna. Now that’s a great day of fishing followed up by some great sushi after. Mads, Karl and Anders my good friends from Norway thanks soooo much for a great day of fishing and Mads good luck on your sword fish trip with us this Wed!! (To be continued) June is finally here and fishing has been great so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up Captain Taco (954) 764-4344 or toll free (877) SEA-4344

Today was a family outing with Larry, Shelby, Robert, Phil and Laurie all from Claycomo Mo And Monica from West By God Virginia. We started out looking for some big game fish so we set out our kites with some live baits suspended from them and we also set out two big shark baits one down about 150 feet down and last bait on the bottom 350 feet down. Today the fish did not come quite so easy for us we waited and waited and yes waited for a bite. But at last something had taken our long kite bait and line was peeling off the reel. (WE WERE HOOKED UP) Just in time too we were just about to switch up and try something else. The girls were up first and there was no way any one of them was going to do it by them self’s so they all helped out and finally got this big hammer head shark to the boat. We were going to bring the shark in and get a quick measurement of him to have a replica trophy made of him but the shark had a mind of his own and before I could get down stairs to give Captain Greg a hand the fish was in the boat and going nuts. Once I got down stairs all I could see was big hooks swing everywhere and Greg trying to get out of the way. Once the fish settled down I seen some blood coming from Greg’s hand and I knew that this was going to be ugly. We are not sure what got him? One of the hooks or maybe just the tail of the fish but whatever it was he had a good gash in one of his hands. We finally got our measurement and a couple of quick pictures and back out of the boat he went. (holly cow) That was a tough one. Now that we had caught a big game fish we decided to just try to catch everyone some fish. So we went trolling the reef. It turned out to be the right choice we ended up catching a box full of king fish a big jack on the troll and one black fin tuna. Now it was time to reel everything in and head back for the dock. So everyone was lending a hand reeling all the rods in when one of the girls Monica I think said that her line was not coming in. Captain Greg had thought that we got hung up into the bottom but I assured him that we were in too deep of water and this was not bottom. As it turned out she had hooked into a giant sea turtle. (That’s a first for me) We managed to get all the line back so as not to harm the turtle and watched him swam away in fine shape. Guy’s thanks again for a trip I’ll never forget. I don’t know where to start today’s fishing report? So I will start by listing all the people on board today. As luck would have it we had a little schedule mix up today and when I showed up to work today I also seen Captain J.J. and Captain Greg standing there ready to go fishing. Our customer / friend today was Mads from Norway and this was going to be his last chance to go fishing in Sunny South Florida before heading back home to Norway. Mads has fishing all over the world and has also been fishing in South Florida since he was 12 years old with me and Captain Greg so we all wanted to go for Big or Broke. We all decided to go way off shore in search of the big swordfish and we also figured that it would not be a bad idea to have two guys down in the cockpit just in case we did get a hold of a big one. In the past month I had caught a sword fish with each of them. One with Greg that weighed about 250 pounds and one with J.J. that we estimated to weigh about 400 pound. Both of these fish gave us a hell of a hard time at the boat. Ok so the stage was set and off we went trolling at 9 knots with a few lures out hoping to catch some dolphin fish on our way out. We did find a weed line with a couple of boats catching smaller dolphin fish but this was not what we were looking for so we left them and kept going further and further off shore. At last here we were now it was just a matter of where we were going to drop our bait down to the bottom. We all talked about it a bit and we knew where J.J. had caught our 400 pounder just a few weeks ago and decided that would be the spot. So in came all the lures out went our squid. It took about 7 min to finally get to the bottom but with in 2 min of getting to the bottom the rod twitched once then again and then one more time and we knew that we had a bite and since the rod never moved again we figured that a sword fish had hit it with his bill and had gotten the squid off the hook. So we started reeling our line back up to the surface and sure enough that was just what had happen. All we had left on the hook was a little piece of the squid. Ok so we have not caught him yet but at least we found them. Buy the time the beat up bait made it back up to the boat Captain J.J. had another ready to go and right back down it went. This time Captain Greg was dropping the bait. As Greg got close to the bottom he asked if we had ever heard of anyone getting the bite on the way down. No sooner than the words came out of his mouth he got a hit and stopped dropping. Now remember on these deep drops we use an electric reel so Greg hit the button on the reel and started to reel it up just a bit to see if what ever hit the bait would come back and take another shot at it. As he was slowly reeling the bait up we noticed the rod kept twitching for a lack of a better word. So he just kept coming up with it and sure enough there was something on the other end. The closer he got to the surface the more the rod was twitching. Ok now we knew there was something on the other end for sure but it never did pull out not even an inch of line so we figured whatever it was it was small. All the same J.J. got the gaffs out we were loaded for bear. Here where things started getting ugly. Before we even got our lead up and out of the water we seen our hook all wrapped up in the main line. Than all hell broke loose up popped this monster sword fish and he was not even hooked he was all wrapped up in the line. All I heard was Captain Greg yell out come back hard on this one. Bear in mind these words being yelled out were being yelled out by someone who I’ve never heard get excited at the site of any fish at the boat. J.J. had the leader and was pulling on it with all he had and remember the hook was at this point behind J.J. so if he were to let go of the leader he could have been hooked and dragged overboard. I never knew my boat could go so fast in reverse but I was going to stay right on top of this one. Captain Greg was hanging over the side of the boat hopping to just get one shot at this fish with the gaff. As I was watching all of this unfold in front of me I could not help but think O @$%*&!* someone going to get hurt on this one and I sure hope it’s the fish. The fish took one look at Greg the boat and the gaff and decided to get the heck out of here and down he went. Captain J.J. had no choice but to hang on for dear life and the line just sled off the fish. And just like that he was gone. (RATS) How big was this fish you ask?? Well let’s just say BIG. It is fish like this that keeps us coming back. Greg figured it to be somewhere around 600 pounds. The kicker in this story was that I had my camera on and sitting right next to me the whole time and never got a free second to get a shot of the fish. The bad news is that he got away the good news is that he got away. Had Greg got a gaff into this fish that had not even began to fight I have no idea what would have happen. And the other good news about this fish is that he is still out there waiting for you to charter the Hooked Up and try your luck at catching him. Summer is here and the ocean is like a lake so come on down to South Florida and let’s catch the one that got away. (LOL) Captain Taco (954) 764-4344 or toll free (877) SEA-4344

This morning we started out with a father and son fishing team Greg and Trapper from Oklahoma. We started out trolling the reef just looking to put some fish in the box to break the ice. And as it turned out we made the right decision and ended up catching a box full of king fish a few bonitos and one big black fin tuna that we were going to eat the next day on their second fishing trip with us. Ok now that we had some fish in the box time to go for the BIG one. We had little to no current and no wind to fly our kites so we just set out three big dead bait. One on the surface one down about 150 and the last one down on the bottom 350 down. The trap was set now all we needed was for something big to come along and eat one of our baits. As I said before we had no current and we had a full moon so things did not look so good for getting the sent out to increase our chances for a bite. We waited and waited and waited then just as we were about to wrap it up and go back to trolling our deep rod bent over and line was peeling off the reel. We were Hooked Up and Trapper jumped in the chair and it was game on. At this point we were so far away from our inlet and this fish showed no signs of letting up I knew that we were going to be running late for our afternoon trip. I called our afternoon charter on the phone and let them know what was going on. They all let me know to take as long as needed and to give them a call when we were on our way in. Ok so now the pressure was off me and we could concentrate on catching whatever the heck this was on the other end. Trapper had finally worn the fish down a bit and was now getting some line back on the reel when all of a sudden the line went slack. (RATS) At first we had no idea what went wrong but once we reeled the bait in we seen our bait was just fine. Not a mark on it. As it turned out our leader was a mess and I guess the fish had got all caught up in the leader. I could not believe this. This was just what had happen to us a couple of days earlier on a sword fish. We were out of time a running a bit late so we headed back for the dock. But the good news was that they both were going to spending the whole day fishing with us tomorrow. Once we got back to the dock we had Ann (the phone#) and her best friend Cheryl, Devin, Keifer who had just graduated school and last but not least Franky all from Ravendenar Arkansas. They were looking for some fish to take back home with them. We started out trolling the reef and caught a box full of king fish and bonitos. What we were doing was working so we figured if it ante broke don’t fix it. So we just kept on trolling. And man were we glad we did. We ran into a school of dolphin fish and started catching them with light tackle spinning rods. We had caught everyone in the school except one and of course it was the biggest one in the school. We had him on for a second but he managed to shake the hook lose. But Captain J.J. was set on catching that last one and after a bit of chumming the waters he came back for more. Soon enough he just could not help it and he ate. This time Franky jumped on the rod. It was a back and forth tug a war for about 5 min before J.J. was finally able to sink the gaff into him. Way to go guys!!! The box was full and everyone had a ball. After losing a few big fish in the last couple of days we needed a boast me up like this trip. And in closing Ann when giving out your phone # remember don’t give half of one # and the other half another # (LOL) Summer is here and so are the calm waters and the king fish and dolphin fish are starting to show up good so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up. I would like to start out this fishing report by saying that there is nothing I enjoy more than writing about a great day of deep sea fishing. But the key word here is fishing. This is my back yard we fish in and I am very good at what I do as far as where to fish and what to do but the bottom line is the fish do have the final say so as to what and how many we catch. And today we’ve got Greg and his son Trapper on board for a full day of fishing. And yesterday Trapper was connected to a big fish and that is what we had in mind was to catch Trapper a big fish. We went right out to 350 feet of water set out both of our kites with 3 live baits suspended from them and one dead bait also suspended from one of the kites we also set one bait down 150 feet and our last bait down on the bottom. We had a bit of south current and a full moon and we were just going to have to get lucky to get the bite we were looking for. Looking back on this trip we put a lot of time waiting out in the deep for a big bite but you can’t catch them if you don’t have the baits in the water. All we got was one barracuda that cut our bait in half and swam off. As we got into the afternoon we decided to move into shallower water and try our luck there. As soon as we got our kites back out there and a couple of shark baits out we got covered up with little dolphin fish. So small they could not even eat the baits but they did manage to kill our baits. Once we got the baits back out there the remoras’ moved in and they started killing our baits. (RATS) we need a break here. Finally we got a break or so I thought. I saw a big shark coming in on one of our live kite baits. At first Captain Greg reeled the bait up in the air and asked me if we had a shot at catching him with this light line? At first I said heck no not with the luck we were having. I was just kidding and he let the bait back in the water and as soon as it hit the water we were Hooked Up. Trapper jumped in the chair in 1 second flat and we were Hooked Up ( Thank God) All of a sudden out of nowhere I seen two big splash’s by our other baits and we now had three fish on at the same time. A school of bonitos just happen to swim by while we were doing battle with this shark. I was not sure what had happen but all of a sudden Trapper’s line went slack and the shark was gone. When he reeled in his line the snap swivel that connects the leader to the line was open and the leader was gone. I’m not sure if one of the other lines with the bonitos on it crossed the line or what really happen but at this point it really did not matter the fish was gone and was not coming back. We did manage to catch a 3 foot hound fish witch I had not seen any of them around for quite some time but that along with a couple of bonitos was it. And to add insult to injury Greg gave us one of the biggest tips we’ve gotten all year. TOUGH DAY ON THE RIP The only pleasure I get out of writing reports like this one is that I seem to be the only Captain that has any tough days of fishing or else I’m the only one that writes about them. Either way Greg thanks so much. We owe you one big fish. And as for Trapper you have to be one of the most pertinent fishermen I’ve ever had the privilege of fishing with and we are looking forward to our next trip next month. I’ve got to say it has been a tough week but that was then and now it is a new week and we are going to get even with some of these big game fish so give us a call and let’s go catching. Ok so we have been shut down for a much engine repair that has been a long time coming but at last our engine is fixed and we seem to still have the sword fish fever. So it just so happens that our of our most regular customers Clark and his wife Whitney are in town and we really wanted to show them a real treat. They seem to always charter the boat for 4 hour trips and we have never had the chance to try to get a big sword fish with them so this time we are going for it. Clark and one of my Captains Greg also do a lot of fishing on the west coast of Florida out of Everglades City and they have a couple of guides that they use when they are over there. They have been using Captain (In Sian Wayne) of Fish Hunt Charters (239) 269-3602 and Captain Joe from Show and Tell Charters (Don’t have his # however his web site is easy to find) I have fished on the west coast with these guys and I’ve got to say that if you like fishing in shallow water for snook, red fish, tarpon, Jew fish and just about anything else you want to catch over there it truly can be a none stop action place to fish. Just make sure you have a party of three anglers or less or else you will need 2 boats. And remember to bring a hat suntan lotion and plenty to drink and be ready for what they call a full day and I do mean a full day both times I fished with In Sian Wayne I had to tell him that’s enough can we go in now? And if you are real nice to him he might bring you back within 9 to 11 hours. Ok so enough about them let’s get back to our fishing trip that Clark and Whitney invited Wayne and Joe and Joe’s son Connor to join us on. So off we went trolling at 8 knots going 17 miles off shore. Once we got to the sword fish spot in came all the trolling gear and out went our squid and down she went all the way to the bottom 1500 down. Once we got the bait down we threw out ballyhoo and just drifted it way back behind the boat. After a good 10 min without a bite we decided to bring it up just to make sure it got down without getting tangled. While it did make it down without getting tangled we did not even know it but someone down there took a swat at it and the squid was cut in half. Ok no big deal we knew we were in the right spot. So we picked up and ran about a quarter mile to the south so we could try to get the bait down in the same spot. So once again down went our bait and out went the ballyhoo. Just about the same time we hit bottom the rod bent just a bit and we were Hooked Up. As we were reeling it up it seemed this fish could pull out drag whenever he wanted to and then would just keep coming up with us. All of a sudden the ballyhoo that we had forgotten about at this point got hit and line started screaming off the reel. Holy cow what to do? We seen this BIG dolphin fish about 35 pounds come up jumping and we knew we had a sword fish on our deep line. This dolphin fish was just too big to just cut the line and deal with what we had come out for in the first place. So we figured since we had 5 guys on the boat that fish for a living that we could somehow manhandle this dolphin at the boat so as to not allow him to get tangle in our other line with the sword fish was connected to. I’ve got to say that I would not have wanted to be this dolphin behind this boat today. It took about 2 seconds and this fish was out of the water and in the fish box before he even knew he was hooked. Connor nice job getting him to the boat so fast and J.J. nice gaff job and as for Wayne nice job closing the lid on him so fast. Ok so back to our sword fish up popped the lead and J.J. cut it off it less than a second and just as Captain Greg graded the leader he said that he had just felt one of the hooks pull and 1 second later he was gone (RATS) We never did get to see how big this one was because the leader was straight down and it is over 120 feet long. What a heart breaker but that fishing and we will be back. Guys thanks again for a great fun day of fishing and we will see you guys again next week. Summer is here and so are some of the bigger dolphin fish so give us a call and lets go fishing aboard the Hooked Up. Captain Taco (954) 764-4344 or toll free at (877) SEA-4344

Today we had a bunch of crazy nuts down here in South Florida to celebrate there friend Jim getting married. Jim now lives down here in South Florida along with his friends Jayson the EAR, Steve, Mike and Eric the Long Beach Boomer who still lives in New York. We started out trolling the reef with 2 lines down deep and three on top and today it was the right choice to make. We were picking at the bonitos and kingfish pretty good all morning and before we knew it we had a box full of king fish. Once we got way down to the South almost off the coast of Miami we decided to try dropping a live bait down deep on a wreck just to see if we could catch a big grouper or some other kind of bottom dwelling sea creature. We had little to no current so I really did not think this was going to pan out for us but since we were all the way down here what the heck. We dropped a couple of times with no bites so it was time to decide what else to try. I thought going off shore looking for dolphin fish might be our best bet but Captain J.J. thought we might have a better shot at catching a shark around all these wrecks. We were going to make a $100 dollar bet but I did not feel right about taking J.J.’s money and man am I glad we did not bet because I would not have been taking J.J.’s money he would have been taking mine. It took about 30 min of waiting but all at once we seen our balloon with a shark bait on the other end go down and we were Hooked Up It was Jim’s party so he jumped in the chair and the fight was on. This fish was not coming to the boat so easy in fact it took Jim over 30 min to finally get him to the side of the boat. It turned out to be a 200 to 230 pound bull shark hooked in the side. Way to go Jim Buy the way we got the fish next to the boat and using the gaff J.J. got all the hooks out of the fish. If you look closely at this picture the gaff is not in the fish he was using the gaff to get all the hooks out of the fish. Nice job J.J. Good luck Jim and guys thanks again for a fun day of fishing. Fishing is getting better every day so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up Captain Taco (954) 764-4344 or toll free at (877) SEA-4344

Today I had a couple of friends that I have been friends with since the early 70s I had Peter from Ft Lauderdale and Barb who now lives up by Daytona Beach Florida and she brought along her boyfriend Kurt from Deland Florida. The fish we were looking for today would be dolphin fish so we could all have a big fish fry. So we headed off shore trolling 5 lines on the surface a one down about 45 feet deep for any Wahoo’s that we might run across. Once we got about 6 miles off shore I seen a big weed patch and hopes were high. But as we were getting close to this weed patch Captain Greg yelled out to me and asked if I could see anything behind his left short bait. No sooner than the words came out of his mouth up came this sail fish and he was not leaving till he got something to eat. He made one last pass at the bait and that was all that Greg was waiting for. We were Hooked Up. We tried to get Barb to jump in the chair but she said that there would be no chair for her. She was going to fight this one standing up. (Way to Go Barb). The fish peeled off half a spool of line and started dancing all over the surface for us. What a show this fish seemed to be in the air more than in the water. At this point the boat had slid right into the middle of the weed patch that we were heading for and Barb’s line had weed all over her line between her and the fish. She finally got her fish to the side of the boat. We got a couple of quick pictures and watched her fish swim away in great shape. We went right back to dolphin hunting but never did find any so we headed back into the reef to catch Kurt a king fish. We later found out the reason we had caught Barb a sail fish was because she brought her lucky marble along with her. Ok Barb it was the Marble!! What Ever (LOL) Guys thanks for bring back all the memories lov ya. Captain Taco (954) 764-4344 toll free (877) SEA-4344 June 20
Ok the last couple of weeks have been filled with ups and downs fishing and it seems like our luck has finally taking a turn for the better. I’m sure that if Barb from yesterday’s trip were writing this fishing report she would say that it was her lucky marble that changed our luck but for whatever reason I’m just glad that things have turned around for us. Yesterday things started looking a bit better but today we were on fire. It seemed we could do no wrong and all this happen on a day when fishing really was not all that great for any of the other boats. We set out on our fishing trip with Brent and Debbie from Leesburg Florida and their friends Tom and Laurie also from Leesburg Florida. We were going to be out fishing all day so we knew we had plenty of time to try a few different types of fishing. So we started out trolling the reef with two lines down deep on planner boards and three on the surface. For those of you that don’t know how the planners boards work let me explain it a bit. We attach the planner to a fishing rod with a long leader behind it (about 60 feet long) so when our angler reels in their fish they can only reel till the planner gets to the tip of the rod. At this point the deck hand grabs the leader and hand lines in the rest.( Not on the trip!!) Debbie would have no part of that and she hand lined every fish that came in on the planner and there was a bunch. While trolling we ended up catching a box full of kingfish and two black fin tunas. Ok so now that we had plenty of fish in the box it was time to go for the big one. We set out both our kites with live goggle eyes suspended from them. We also set out a shark bait on a balloon just under the surface and way back behind the boat. We also set out one bait about 150 feet down and our last bait was set down on the bottom 350 deep. So at this point we had everything out there except the kitchen sink. We waited and waited and just as we were starting to lose hope Captain Greg jumped up and said there he is on our balloon set way back behind the boat. I went ahead with the boat the rod bent over and we were Hooked Up. Brent jumped in the chair and the fight was on. It was a big back and forth tug a war for over 25 min but at last Brent finally wore down his fish and got him to the side of the boat. It was a big hammer head shark. We Sid his catch into the boat to get a quick measurement , a couple of quick pictures and even managed to get all the hooks out of him before sliding him back out the door and watched him swam away in great shape. Nice Catch and perfect release. Ok at this point we found ourselves in about 450 feet of water and we noticed a nice blue edge of blue water had moved in so we decided to just slide our kites right back out and see what might be cursing down this edge. It did not take long before we seen our right long kite bait running for his life and sure enough we were hooked up again. This time Tom jumped in the chair and ended up catching a big barracuda. Things were looking good so we just stayed right there and then all of a sudden without any warning a big sail fish popped up on our short right kite bait and again we were Hooked Up. Ok now it was time to find out if Debbie really reeled like a girl (LOL) she jumped in the chair and there was nothing girly about the way she reeled her fish in. It took about 15 min but she got her first sail fish to the boat. We got a couple of pictures and watched him swim away in great shape. Way to go Debbie and what a way to end a great day of deep sea fishing. Brent, Debbie, Tom and Laurie thanks soooo much for a great fun day and we are looking forward to our next trip. Bear in mind this is a tough one to top. Summer is here and so are the fish so give us a call and let’s have a ball fishing aboard the Hooked Up. Today we had a boat full of people from Florida and they wanted eating fish. We had Jordan, David, Taylor, Sheryl and Bob. They guys were counting on a fish fry at the end of the day. So we started out with king fishing on the reef and it paid off for us in a big way. Before we knew it we had our limit of king fish. So we knew that what they really wanted was some dolphin fish so we ran off shore and started the hunt for a weed line or any kind of debris we could find in the water. After a good hour of trying to find dolphin on a Sunday with great weather we knew that there had to be at least 100 other boats doing the same thing and it was like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. We threw in the towel on trying to find dolphin fish and decided to hit some of the ship wrecks down deep. Talk about making the right choice we ended up catching 20 snappers, 5 jacks, 2 porgies, 5 trigger fish and a 20 pound grouper to boot. Guys sorry about the dolphin fishing but I can tell you that I would take a grouper over dolphin fish any day of the week. Hope you guys had a great fish fry and we are looking forward to our next trip. Captain Taco (9540 764-4344 June 25
Today we started out our day with Ali from England, Tom from Whales, Rick from Wolverhame, and Benny Boy from Whales. Today the request was for fish. Just catch as many fish as possible so that was just what we did. We went trolling the reef with two planner board down about 45 feet down and three top lines with ballyhoo and bonitos strips on them. The king fish and bonitos were biting like mad dogs we ended up with our limit of kings in no time and a box full of bonitos. Thanks again guys and looking forward to seeing you again soon. Summer is here and the reef is full of life so bending the rod seems to be no problem and the dolphin fish will be around any day now so give us a call and let’s go fishing. This morning we started out our first trip of the day with Dr Dale from Tampa Florida and his son Rainey from Pompano Beach Florida. We started out trolling the reef with two lines down deep and three on the surface. Since we only had two anglers we had our limit of kings in no time and the bonitos just kept coming. It got to be pretty routine catching kings and bonitos but then we got a bite that was pulling a bit harder than the others. Dale jumped in the chair and ended up catching and releasing a big barracuda. On top of a good morning of catching I even got some medical advice from Dr Dale. Doc and Rainey it truly was a pleasure fishing with you guys today and we are looking forward to our sword fish trip coming up. This afternoon we had Jessie, Tim, Dan, Ryan and Crag from Sturgeon Bay WI. Since trolling the reef had been producing good numbers for us we went right back to trolling the reef. And once again the kings and bonitos were biting real well. After everyone had caught fish we decided to set out a few live baits and a couple of shark baits and see if our luck would continue? Once we had all our baits set out there the trap was set and the wait started. It did take a bit of waiting but all of a sudden our deep rod bent over and line was screaming off the reel. Jessie wasted no time jumping in the chair and the fight was on. It was a big back and forth tug a war for over 20 min but at last Jessie wore down his opponent and got a nice bull shark to the boat. We got 2 out of the 3 hooks out of him and watched him swim away in great shape. Thanks again to all of our anglers today and we are looking forward to fishing you guys again soon. Fishing is good, Weather is good, Air fares and hotel rates are down so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up. Captain Taco (954) 764-4344 or toll free (877) Sea-4344

June 28 Today we had a crazy bunch on the boat. It all started with Toney from Davie Florida and his kid brother Mike from Lancaster, Pa who has never in his life caught a fish. They invited their friends Todd, Ben Alia and Gary all from South Florida Things started out normal enough catching king fish and bonitos on the reef. And now that Mike had caught his first fish ever the mood on the boat started to change a bit. Ben Alia started to get very attracted to the king fish and the beer seemed to be flowing down dangerously smooth at this point. So Captain J.J. thought he would change things up a bit and see how that would affect our group. So in came all the trolling gear and out went the shark baits. Ok so now the trap was set and all we needed was for some big sea monster to come along and take a bite. It did not take long before our deep rod with the bait on the bottom bent over and line started peeling of the reel. Angler #one got in the chair and started the back and forth tug a war for a good 5 to 6 min and them he just wore out. Ok now angler #2 got in the chair and he also petered out in about 5 min. Can you say angler # 3 and that’s right you guessed it here comes # 4 and then we start at the beginning again. What a ball I think this one fish beat the heck out of 4 grown men and remember all the fish had to hold on to was water these guys had a 45 foot boat, A big fighting chair and a big fishing rod. (LOL) After a good 35 min of fighting and changing anglers they finally got this monster hammer head shark to the boat. We got all three hooks out of the shark got a quick measurement in order to have a replica mount made of their catch and watched him swam away in good shape Guys thanks for the laughs and the good time and we hope to see you guys again soon. It is the last day of June and it looks like the king fish are here in full. We started out our morning trip with Matt and Sue from Pennsalvaya and Mike from Colorado. We went trolling the reef since the reef had been producing good fish and once again the reef is going off. The king fish and bonitos are biting like mad dogs. We ended up with a box full of bonitos our limit of king fish and one big barracuda. As we pulled back to the dock we had our afternoon trip there waiting for us. And after seeing our catch this morning they were hopping for more of the same. This afternoon we had Kevin and Tom from New York and Christian and Mike from Colorado. It was right back to the reef to see if the kings were still biting and they were. We ended up with 8 king fish (our limit) for only having 4 anglers and a box full of bonitos. No real big fish today but we had pretty much none stop action and everyone had a ball. Thanks again to all our anglers today and we hope to see you guys again soon.
