It’s the beginning of a new month and May has been known to produce some big game.
And today was a great way to start it off.
We had a shared charter today we had Amber and Aaron from Lexington Kentucky and Ian and Scott from Brook land New York.
We went right to it we put out our kites with some live baits suspended from them and we also put out a couple shark baits. Things started out a little slow and everyone on the boat was really hoping to see a shark.
Having said that our deep rod bent over and we thought it was going to break right in half. This sea monster on the other end of the rod was peeling line off and it looked like it was never going to stop.
We knew right away that this was going to have to be a team effort. Everyone took turns trying to stop this sea monster but at last it took Amber to finish the job. We finally got this giant hammer head shark to the boat. WAY TO GO what a catch thanks guys for an action filled afternoon of fishing.
Things just keep getting better every day so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up

Today Claude, Robert, Jean and Yves all from Canada spent the morning fishing aboard the Hooked Up. They wanted to mix it up a little eating fish and then see if we could catch something big. We knew that the water conditions looked good but we had no idea that we would be having as great of a day that we ended up having. We started out getting some live bait from the bait boat and then we just started trolling down the reef with 3 baits on top and 2 down deeper. While our top baits did not see much action our deep baits were on fire. It seemed ever time we put the deep baits out we would get another fish on. We ended up with a box full of kingfish.
After about an hour of this we knew we had more kingfish than we needed so we decided to switch out the dead baits for some live one and see how our luck would work with them. So we put out both our kites with live baits suspended from them and we also put out a couple of big dead baits on the bottom. It did not take long and one of the deep baits got hit and we were Hooked Up. It turned out to be a big hammerhead shark. We got the fish close to the boat got a few pictures and managed to get 2 out 3 hooks out of the shark and watched him swim away to fight another day. We were feeling pretty good about the way things went on the trip we had done pretty much everything our anglers asked for and everyone was laughing and having a great time when all of a sudden I looked up and there was a sailfish eating one of the kite baits that was still out there. The way things were going for us today I knew we were going to catch this fish to. And we did and it was a monster sailfish. We got the hook out of the fish got a couple more picture and released him. WHAT A MORNING and were not done yet we still had to go in and pick up some more anglers for our afternoon trip.
We got in said goodbye to our morning customers and hello to the afternoon anglers.
We had Killeen, Greg, Josh and Janelle all from New York and they all knew that fishing was good and we set out looking for some more big game.
We went right to it this time we wasted no time catching kingfish they wanted to catch big fish and so did we. We put our kites out and a couple dead baits for sharks and started waiting. Well we waited and waited and it just was not going off like it was in the morning. We were just about to switch up and try some more trolling on the reef went their he was a sailfish and this was a big one.
The fish wasted no time eating the bait and we were Hooked Up. THANK GOD It sure makes it tough when you have such a great trip in the morning and your afternoon people know it and then you can’t seem to get a bite for them. But that was all behind us now we were connected to a big one and everyone having a ball. It took about 20 min to get this nice sailfish to the boat but at last we did. Got a few quick pictures and watched him swim away.
What a day looking forward to fishing tomorrow Give us a call and come be a part of it all.

Today Lance, Dewy, Eric and Joe all from South Florida spent the morning sport fishing with us in search of a big shark. We put out our kite baits and put down a couple of big shark baits down deep. We didn’t have much current and the water looked green and did not have that blue sparkle to it. But all the same we hoped one would get the scent of one of our baits. We waited for quite some time and just as we decided to make a move BAM we were connected. This monster had eaten our deep bait which was already 350 feet down and he had taken a lot more line off. This was going to take a while. It was a back and forth tug a war for over 30 min but we did finally manage to get the fish up to the boat. It turned out to be a giant bull shark. Way to go guys.
It looks like we’ve got a cold front moving in tomorrow and that means good fishing so give up a call and let’s get Hooked Up

Today Anders and Andrew and Thomas from parts unknown spent the morning fishing with us. These guys were looking for some fish to eat so we decided to try trolling for some king fish first. We trolled for quite some time only catching 2 kingfish we knew we were going to have to try something else. At first we worked our way off shore a bit hopping to run into a school of dolphin fish. But after talking to a couple other fishing boats that were already out there we knew that they just were not out there today. So we dropped back on plain C. We went to a wreck and dropped some chunks of bait down on the bottom and b BINGO the snappers were biting. We ended up with a box full of snappers more than enough to feed everyone and that was what we all wanted in the first place.
Give us a call have great time fishing and then you can go right next to the boat to the( Bahia- Cabana)and they will cook it up for you.

Today was one of those days of deep sea fishing people dream about. We started out our day of fishing with Toney, Bryson, Shawn, Jennifer and Chrysie all from Eagar Arizona.
We had clean blue water to fish along with a good north current so thing looked good we just had no idea how good they would be.
We started out doing a little trolling on the reef and did pretty good we caught a few bonitos and a box full of kingfish. Than we switched from trolling to doing some kite fishing and that’s when things really got heated up. It dint take long till the first sailfish showed up and Shawn wasted no time getting in the chair and we were Hooked Up. After that BAM there was another sailfish and soon after that our deep line with big dead bait on the other end bent over and line started peeling off that rod and Toney wasted no time jumping in the chair and reeled in a monster hammer head shark. Soon after that yet another sailfish (WHAT A DAY) I’ve got to say that I am writing this fishing report a month after it actually happen and I don’t remember the details of it all. I had lost my notes on this fishing trip and I am trying to remember who caught what so sorry if I was not accurate but one thing I do remember is one of the best days of fishing we’ve had in a long time.
We ended up catching 2 bonitos, a box full of kingfish 3 sailfish and one monster hammer head shark.
Thanks for a great fun filled day of fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale

Today we had a shared charter with people from all over North America. We had Rich and Andre from Ontario Canada, Max from Holly Wood California and Greg and Heidi from Maryland.
We started out trolling the reef and managed to catch a few bonitos and kingfish. Than we put out our kites and a couple dead baits down on the bottom. We had waited for quite a while without a bite when all of a sudden one of the deep rods bent over and we thought the rod was going to break in half. After about an hour of back and forth fighting this sea monster we finally got it to the side of the boat. It was a giant hammer head shark. Way to go guys.
When we got back to the dock our afternoon trip was there waiting on us. They had heard about this big shark and their hopes were high. We got Joe, Toney, Doc and Adam all from Road Island aboard and off we went. This time we wanted to go right after a big fish so we did no trolling and went right to kite fishing.
Thing had changed a little since our morning trip the current had slowed down to a stop and none of the boats seemed to be catching much. However we did hang in there and before we knew it BAM there he was a big sailfish and he was eating one of our kite baits. It took a good 20 min to reel this one to the boat side but we did. So now thing were looking up for us but we knew that we had just gotten lucky and that the sails were not biting so we decided to try our luck at some bottom fishing...
We ran to the south where there was a ship wreck on the bottom and dropped a live bait down about 210 feet down. It did not take more than 20 seconds and BAM we were Hooked Up again. About 10 min later we reeled up a big amber jack. Well that was too easy so we tried it again and once again the second we got to the bottom BAM another big amber jack. We had found the fish and there was no way we were going to leave them we ended up catching 4 big amber jacks and one monster sailfish.
Guys fishing just seem to be getting better every day so give us a call and let’s get you Hooked Up

Today Mr. Spencer AKA (#24) and his son Shane from Georgia came to South Florida to do a little fishing aboard the Hooked Up. They also had their close friends Larry and Andy also from Georgia along to join us. Things started out pretty normal. We got our live baits from the bait boat went out to about 150 feet of water to see if we could get lucky and catch a sailfish. When up popped this big fin but this was no sailfish this was a giant hammerhead shark. The problem was all we had out there were sailfish leaders and we knew that this fish would bite right threw them like they were hot butter. But not to worry Captain Greg had shark bait rigged and ready to go. We pulled our sailfish baits up in the air and tried to get the shark bait in front of this sea monster. It seems that this shark had its mind set on live bait not a big juicy bloody bonito. The shark seemed to go nuts trying to find these live baits that were there just a second ago but now seemed to just vanish. After about 5 min of trying to help him find the bait that we wanted him to eat he got a scent of it and by now he was pretty pissed off. Needless to say he piled on this bait like a freight train and we were Hooked Up. Not only was this shark very excited when he finally got the bait Mr. #24 had been watching this fish for more than 5 min now and he was ready to take on the challenge. GAME ON This turned out to be a 55 min back and forth tug a war but Mr. Spencer finally did manage to wear him down and got him to the boat. But we were not done with this fish yet. You see after this long hard fight Mr. Spencer wanted to remember this fight and he also wanted to show him off at his bar in Georgia so he wanted to have a trophy made of the giant hammer head shark.
Well we’ve got a new rule on my boat and that is we are no longer killing sharks and or bill fish to have trophies made of them. Over the years we have killed lots of these big game fish so we could send them to the taxidermy and have them turned into beautiful memorable trophy for our angler when that fact of the matter is the taxidermy does not need the fish to build that trophy of a life time for the anglers all they really need is a measurement. So here is the tricky part we needed to not only get a measurement of this beast but for this fish to have a real chance of making it after the fight of his life we also had to get the hooks out of the fish. That’s right we wanted the hooks out of the sharks mouth.
Thank god this shark was tired after a long fight and that made it pretty easy for us to get the hooks out and get a accurate measurement (112) inches that’s a big one way to go Mr. #24 and by the way the Mr. #24 stands for his Jeff Gordon paints (LOL)
So after we got done with that we went back to trying to catch a sailfish so we put our kites right back out there and before we knew it something was trying to eat one of our baits. We could not see what it was at first but after letting the fish run with the bait for a couple seconds a nice dolphin fish came up jumping. This time Shane jumped in the chair and ended up caching a nice dolphin fish.
Well we went right back to it there just had to be a sailfish around here everything looked great for one we had clean blue water and a good north current but no sailfish around.
Than there again a big fin heading for one of our sailfish baits and yes again a big hammerhead shark.
So once again we pulled our kite baits up in the air and put out a big bloody bonito and this time it took the shark no time to find the bait Larry jumped in the chair and we were Hooked Up. It took about 30 min to catch this one this fish was a bit smaller than the first one but still what a fish. We got a few quick pictures of this one and watched him swim away. Nice going Larry.
We had such a great time and we never did see a sailfish so these guys decided to go fishing with us again the next day. We just had to find a sailfish for Shane.
The foiling day we set out in search of a sailfish but things had changed the water no longer had that pretty blue sparkle to it and we had little to no current. We knew that it did not look very promising for sailfish so we started out trolling the reef just to make sure we put a few fish in the box. We caught a few kingfish and a few bonitos and then I decided to head out to a little deeper water to see what it looked like out there. On our way out there we did manage to catch a nice black fin tuna and then I noticed a great looking edge where the blue water meat the green water and there was some north current there. We decided that if we were going to see a sail this would be the place. We did not have enough wind to fly our kite so we just hooked our bait and slow trolled them.
We were doing this for about 1 min when there he was a giant sailfish. I could not believe our luck it was like finding a needle in a hay stack I never heard of any of the other boats catching or even seeing a sailfish that day. Anyway Shane jumped in the chair this was the fish he had come to South Florida to catch and we had him on. This fish put on quite a show for us he jumped all over the place witch in the long run turned out to be a good thing. Not only was it a ball watching him dance all over the top of the ocean but once we got him to the boat he was pretty tired and we were able to get a quick measurement of the fish and watch him swim away to fight another day.
Thanks for a couple of great days of fishing guys and we’ll be seeing you again soon.
Fishing seems to be getting better every day so come on down and give us the chance to get you Hooked Up

It’s not that often that a couple girls charter the boat to go fishing. But when they do it is usually a fun filled day. Today was no exception we had Rock On Dawn and Friendly Kelly both from ST Louis. Our day started out by getting some live baits from the bait boat and then I decided to run for about 4 miles to the south where there were no other boats fishing. We got to our hot spot and started putting out our kites with some live baits suspended from them. Before we could get all the baits in the water I seen a big splash by one of our baits and the rod bent over and line started peeling off the reel. At first I thought it was a big kingfish but after 10 min of fighting this fish I knew that a king would have cut thru our monofilament leader like it was hot butter. So we figured it had to be a tuna or a monster bonito. After about 5 more min I could see the fish deep in the water behind the boat and I knew it was a big tuna.
Lucky for us we had my son Luis working as mate and as he reached out with his 6 foot long arms and gaffed the fish the hook fell right out of the tuna’s mouth. What a way to start out our day and we just got started.
So we got the fish on ice and got reset up as fast as possible. We waited for about a half an hour till our next bite and well worth it. We now had not 1 but 2 dolphin fish on at the same time. These 2 fish managed to get tangled up in all the other lines we had out but at last we did manage to boat both of them. And once again Luis wasted no time getting the baits right back out there.
While we had managed to boat some nice fish we still had not caught that one fish that Rock On Dawn wanted a sailfish. By now a good hour had passed without a bite and the water no longer had that pretty blue sparkle to it so we decided to give it 10 more min.
As it turned out we did not need all 10 min because in about 2 min there popped up a sailfish and he was trying to eat our bait not more than 15 feet behind the boat. That was really cool everyone got to watch him eat the bait like they were watching TV. We let the fish run with the bait for about 40 seconds and then we came tight with the fish and we were Hooked Up WHAT A SHOW to see this fish dance on top of the waves. Needless to say Rock On Dawn wasted no time jumping in the chair and the fight was on. It took Dawn a good 15 min to finally get this beautiful sailfish to the boat. She decided she wanted to have this fish of a life time mounted so we got a quick measurement and a couple quick pictures and watched the fish swim away in good shape.
Mission accomplished so now what to do? We were pretty far down to the south and I knew of a spot where we had done pretty good on gropers in the past so we figured what the heck everything we had tried so far worked. Well not so much on the grouper fishing they just were not biting.
We still had a couple hours left on our fishing trip so we decided to head off shore and see if we could catch some more dolphin fish. As soon as we got out to about 700 feet of water we saw this big sea turtle cruising around and sure enough there they were dolphin fish so we caught a few more of them.
What a day but truth be told we did have a few things in our favor first of all these girls travel al lot and where ever they go they fish so we did have a couple of good anglers to reel in the fish second they chartered us for a 6 hour trip and that gave that little extra time we needed to do a few different styles of fishing with them and last but not least the fish were biting and let’s face it no matter how good of a fisherman you are if they’re not biting well their just not biting. Today they were biting so good that these Girls from ST Louis charted us again for an 8 hour trip tomorrow.
For a better look at thse photos go to photo gallery #4 be sure to take a close look at the photo with the dolphin fish coming to the boat thier are really 2 fish there.
So stay tuned for our next fishing report we have a hard act to follow.
I don’t need to tell you but fishing is good so come on down and give us the chance to get you Hooked Up

More of the Girls from St Louis Today starts our second day of fishing with rock on Dawn and kind Kelly. Today Captain JJ and Luis are going to see if they can top yesterdays catch. Their plain is to troll off shore and see if they can catch some dolphin fish and Wahoo on their way out to the sword fish grounds. Once out there they plain to drop a big squid down 1850 feet down to the bottom and try to catch a sword fish.
Things started out pretty good while trolling out there they did find a pallet floating and it was holding a few dolphin and 1 Wahoo. Not a bad way to start out the day. Once they were out to the sword fish grounds Luis and his friend Mike set everything up and got ready to do the drop. Captain JJ got the boat in position and bombs away. The bait hit the bottom and BAM they got a bite. Sorry to say that about half way up they pulled the hooks. So they started doing another drop when all of a sudden there was dolphin all around the boat. They caught a few more dolphin fish and got right back to dropping. Sorry to say they got no more sword fish bites but they did have a box full of dolphin fish 1 nice Wahoo and they still had 15 miles of water that they had to go trolling in. So it was not over quite yet.
They decided that they had more dolphin fish than they needed so they were going to high speed troll to see if just maybe they could get a blue marlin to bite. After about an hour of this no one was really paying attention to the baits when one of the big rods bent over and line started peeling off. Than the rod just went slack. (RATS) That was him they had not even seen the bite but when the reeled in the leader if was all scorched up just like a blue marlin would do.
Girls I don’t think I need to say it again but it was our pleasure r to fish with you guys and we are looking forward to fishing again soon.
Fishing is just getting better every day we now got the big smoker kings moving in and still plenty of dolphin fish around if you’re looking to put some food on the table. And if you’re looking for the fight of a life time we now got the big monster hammer head sharks are here and they are hungry.
So give us a call and let’s go fishing

Today Frank, Jim, Steve, Laura, Hose-A and Jason all from Dallas Texas spent the day fishing aboard the Hooked Up. We started out trolling the reef for some kingfish and they were biting we got a box full in no time. Then we went and did some deep drops on a wreck and ended up with a big grouper. It seemed that everything we were trying was working. So now it was time to try to catch a sea monster something BIG. So we put out our kites and also put out a couple big bloody bonitos to try to lure a shark in. And this time it did not come to us quite so easy it took some waiting but at last BAM the deep rod bent over and line started peeling off the reel and we were Hooked Up. It took over 45 min but we did finally have this sea monster to the boat. This was a big hammer head shark.
Way to go guys looking forward to fishing you again soon.

Today Mike and Mel from Minnesota brought down Mel’s parents to Fort Lauderdale to enjoy some fun in the South Florida sun. Well Butch and Marry not only had they never been to South Florida before but they had never been deep sea fishing before.
Mike had told us in the beginning of the trip that he really did not care what kind of fish we caught he just wanted to make sure we caught something. So we figured the best bet on catching something would be trolling the reef for kingfish. (They were not biting) We had little to no current and the king or not much for that matter were biting. So we stuck to our plain and kept trolling. Well sure enough we got a bite on one of our top baits and I could see all of the white water from where this fish was thrashing around way out there but I just could not make out what kind of fish it was. Nine out of ten times we know what kind of fish we are dealing with but not this time I figured it was a bonito hooked in the tail or some other kind of fish foul hooked. Than at the last second right behind the boat I got a good look at the fish it was a nice cobia. Now thing got real serious in the cock pit. But Greg was ready with his gaff. He gaffed this fish threw it in the boat and yelled out to everyone run for the hills and get away from the fish. (IT WENT NUTS) When it was all said and done the boat was a mess but we had a nice fish in the boat. Way to go guys. Well the pressure was off so we went out to deep water to see if we could get lucky and maybe find some dolphin fish. We did manage to catch one but never found that big school of them we were looking for.

Today Sal, Jay, Sam, Brad and Jay all came down to South Florida to celebrate Brad getting married next week. They had all come down from Shelby Michigan so they were more than happy to get down here in some of South Florida’s sun.
We started out trolling the reef in search of some kingfish. Things were working out pretty good for us and before we knew it we had a box full of kingfish.
We all agreed we had more than enough kings so we decided to see if we could get Hooked Up with something big. We went out to 350 feet of water put out our kite with some live baits suspended from it and we put out 3 shark baits. One way out on a white balloon one down 150 feet on a blue balloon and one down on the bottom. Well after about an hour and a half without a bite everyone was getting pretty antsy so they started making bets on witch bait would get the bite. Then they added to the bet that we would not get a bite at all. I don’t remember who bet on what but I do remember that Brad bet on the big Blue balloon. We were starting to think about making a change in fishing and go back to trolling when it happen BIG BLUE went down and line started coming off the reel. The line was coming off the reel but not as fast as I would have expected it to. After about 30 min Brad got the fish close enough for us to see it and it was a monster a giant hammer head shark. Well at this point I guess the fish got a look at us also and he decided he wanted nothing to do with this sport fishing game we were playing.
Now the fight was really on and Brad was covered in sweat and he was getting pretty tired but he had gotten a look at this fish and he was determined to catch this one. Brad had just built a new house and he knew that to have this fish mounted we would have to catch it first and he had not caught this fish at this point. After another 45 min he did finally get it to the boat. We opened our tuna door and slid this monster in the boat for a few seconds got all 3 hooks out of the shark’s mouth got a couple quick pictures and slid him back out the door.
We watched the shark swim away and Brad got his trophy. WAY TO GO BRAD.
Once again I want to take this opportunity to tell everyone we don’t have to kill these beautiful fish to have them mounted. All we need in a measurement and the fish get to swim away to fight another day.
Buy the way Brads Hammer Head shark was 105 inches I would guess about a 300 pounder.

Today was a pretty interesting story as far as how we ended up going fishing. The story starts with a guy named Mike who loves fishing and comes out with us whenever he gets the chance. His wife Anita has a good friend named Dayna and Dayna has a daughter named Heather and today is her birthday. They were trying to think of something to do for Heather’s birthday and I guess Mike had a great idea. You guessed it lets take the girls fishing. So off we went Me, Mike, Anita ,Dayna, Heather and her best friend Kyla. Things started out pretty nice we were trolling down the reef picking at the kingfish pretty good. The sun was out the ocean was flat calm. So we trolled our way down south off the coast of Holly Wood. Once we got there we tried some deep drops on a wreck to see if we could catch some grouper for the fish fry they had planned for the birthday party on Monday.
We did a couple drops with no luck they just were not biting but that was ok because I knew that we were going to be trolling back home out in the Gulf Stream and we were hoping we would find some dolphin fish.
The only thing we did not count on was the weather. The sun was not out any more and the ocean well it was not calm anymore. The seas kicked up to about 5 to 6 foot and the only one that was having a ball was Mike. I asked Mike a couple of time how are the girls doing? He just smiled and said they were all fine after about 40 min of me not seeing the girls I once again asked mike how were they and now I wanted to know WHERE WERE THEY?
This was when I found out that the girls were not doing so well. They were all SICK and not having much fun. I happen to look down in the cockpit and I seen this look Anita gave to Mike and well I knew it was time to head back in and Mike would be sleeping on the couch tonight.
After we got back to the dock with a box full of kingfish we all had a few laughs and Mike decided that from now on he would leave Anita at home when he goes fishing.
Go to photo gallery #4 for better look at fish.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER
By the way Anita just opened up a new pizza place in Pompano Beach right on US1 and Atlantic Blvd. If you like pizza you got to try this place IT IS OFF THE SCALE
Thanks again Mike well see you soon

Today was one of those days that it just seemed like it was just meant to be. Nothing today was planned hell we did not even has a charter but somehow everything just seemed to fall into place.
It all started out when Margret and Scott from New York were on the dock with Margret’s brother Dan from Plantation Florida. They walked up to the boat and decided that they would like to try their luck at a little deep sea fishing.
We went out to about 150 feet of water and decided that it would be best if we put out a couple of kite with some live baits suspended from them and just hold the boat into the waves. It was a little rough out there today and we really wanted the chance to try to catch them something real cool. We knew that if we went trolling that they had a better chance of getting sea sick. So we tried to get our kite baits out there as fast as possible but every time we tried to get the baits out we would get Hooked Up with another fish. No kidding it really was that good.
We ended up catching 3 very big black fin tunas in the 30 pound range 2 nice kingfish and a monster sailfish.
This sailfish wanted nothing to do with sport fishing so it took Dan over 25 min to get the fish to the boat. We did not have our camera on the boat but we did get a good measurement of this monster sailfish for Dan and then we watched him swim away to fight another day.
WAY TO GO DAN
Fishing just seems to be getting better every day not just for the Hooked Up but all the boat had real nice catches today so give us a call and lets go fishing.

Today Nancy and Jack from Sacramento California came to south Florida to spend some time with their friends Weldon, Linda, Paul and Sean all from Boca Raton Florida and decided to all spend the morning fishing. And fishing was good. We started out the morning by getting some live baits from the bait boat and then we went right to it. Started by flying a couple of kites with some live baits suspended from them and we also put out a couple of big dead baits for sharks.
Our big dead baits never did get a bite but today the live baits were on fire. We caught 2 nice black fins tunas a couple of king fish. And then to top it off we ended up catching a nice sailfish. We got a few quick pictures and watched him swim away. Way to go guys.

Today Jorge and Oscar from South Florida had four of their doctor friends from Argentina Eduardo, Raul, Rene and Chiche spend the day deep sea fishing with them aboard the Hooked Up.
The ocean was flat calm and these guys wanted to cover some ground and find some good eating fish. So we started out trolling the reef and ended up with a box full of kingfish. There was too much current to fish the bottom for snappers or groupers so the only thing left to do as far as good eating fish was to go way off shore and try to find some dolphin fish. However this dolphin fishing you is either a hero or a zero. If we find one chances are we are going to find a whole bunch together but if we don’t find them well then we could catch nothing and after all the action we just had catching these kingfish so fast I wanted to make sure that they all understood this.
So after explaining this to these guys off we went out to the middle of the Gulfstream to find out elusive dolphin. Like I said the ocean was flat calm so we put out a couple of high speed lures and a few strip baits so we could troll reel fast and cover some ground and better our odds of finding these fish. But after about 2 hours of not finding them we started to think of some other way of wakening up all these guys that by this time started to fall asleep on us. I looked down at our GPS to see how far off shore we were and I could not help but notice that we had worked our way out to the sword fish grounds. So this gave me an idea (how about trying to catch a sword fish) we scrambled around the boat to see if we had what we needed to do this. We found one big sword fish squid we found the light we needed to send down with the bait we found the lead needed to get the light and bait down we knew we had the right reel on the boat for the job. So down we went 1750 feet down to the bottom we figured that this was just meant to be we just happen to have everything we needed on board.
We dropped the bait three times without a bite and we were so far off shore that it was time to start heading back. We felt that this trip that started out so good with all the kingfish biting so well had ended with fishing being so slow. But all the guys knew the chance we were taking and they were all in good spirits so everyone just sat back and started to relax and enjoy the nice ride in. Then I found a gold mine a big plank of wood that was about 5 feet long and 5 feet wide I had a good feeling about this one.
We did not let any of the guys know what we had found just in case there was no one there. That was not the case they were there and there was more than enough. Needless to say everyone scrambled for a rod and there were dolphin coming in the boat left and right (WHAT A MESS) but what a pretty mess we also managed to pull a few Wahoo out of the school and one of the biggest rainbow runners I’ve ever seen it was about a 10 pounder.
What a way to save the day. When we got back to the dock our work was not over we had a box full of kingfish, dolphin fish and Wahoo to clean for these guys but we enjoyed every minute of it by this time I was not running the boat and the beer was flowing and we were all laughing and talking about what a great day it turned out to be.
Thanks a million Doctors and we’ll see you again next May.
Fishing has been great so give us a call and come on down to sunny south Florida and let’s get you Hooked Up
