January 2007 Charter Fishing Reports off Fort Laud

Well it has been a great year and we have high hope and are looking foward to the start of a new year of charter fishing off Fort Lauderdale.

We started out with Greg, Eric and Mark from parts unknown. They wanted some eating fish so we started out trolling the reef. And they caught some kingfish. Than we went offshore in search of some dolphin(mahia mahia) we only found one but it was a nice one and big enough to feed all.

That same afternoon we took out Ken and Kathy from New York and they ended up catching kingfish and a great biz and suntan(LAL). Thanks guys looking forward to seeing you again soon.

On the 4th we had Vic, Tom, Paul and Gary from New York and they also had a great time catching kingfish on the reef and also ended up with a Monster sailfish.

Than Steave, Mark, Pete, Dave and Jason all from right here in sunny south Florida had great morning fishing with us. We ended up catching a box of Wahoo.

On the 10th Ryan and Mike from Conn. We started out trolling the reef but it was pretty slow so we put out some live baits and went for it all. As luck would have it a sailfish came up jumping and we finally ended up catching it.

On the following day a regular customer of ours came out with us and we started out trolling the reef and caught bonitos and 1 dolphin. Than we put out the live baits and caught another sailfish.

Well the following day we had Phill and Joe out with us. And you this thing about fishing you just can’t make them bite and that was the case today. Fishing was just slow we tried just about everything we knew and finally the bottom fishing paid off for us. We ended up with a couple big jacks. Sorry about the fishing guys.

We make not always be able to make them bite but you can rest assure that on the Hooked Up we well do every and just about anything to make it happen for our customers. I guess that’s why they call it fishing not catching.

Than on the 19th we were joined by Greg, Frank, Michel and Antonio from parts unknown for a morning of fishing of Fort Lauderdale. We started out trolling the reef and ended up catching kingfish than we put out some live bait and got lucky and caught a very nice sailfish.

It has been a pretty rough month for us as far as break downs. That is the bad news the good news is almost every thing on our engines are brand new. So we are looking forward to a very long spell with no engine work. (Thank God)

Anyways on the 25th we were back up and running strong. That morning we were met at the dock by Brain and Scott and we it ended up being a good day for Charter fishing off Fort Lauderdale. We ended up with 3 sailfish bites at the same time. We managed to keep 2 of them on the line for quite some time but after a few min we lost 1 of them and ended up catching the other one. We also caught a monster Wahoo a very large barracuda and some kingfish.

On the 28th we took out Saad, Craig, Rick, Mark, Joe and Dan. We started out trolling on the reef between 100 to 180 feet of water but no one was getting the bait. So we decided to try some bottom fishing. No one had been fishing the bottom much lately and we figured that that just might be the thing to try. Well it paid off for us we ended up catching 1 shark one monster amberjack and a big grouper about 60 pounder. Thanks for your patience guys and looking forward to fishing you again soon.

On the 30th Jeff, Jay and Jim all from Austin Texas had their mind set on catching sailfish. So we flew 2 kites and we were determined to catch one. Well our determination paid off and we caught 2 sailfish.

The following day Brain and Mike spent the last day of the month fishing with us and since we had done so well the day before we thought we, would put out the kites again and see what we could come up with. Well lady luck was on our side once again and both Brain and Mike got to catch a sailfish.

Well that’s all for Charter fishing off Fort Lauderdale for this month so gives us a call at 954-764-4344 and let’s do some fishing.
