January 1-5

Happy New Year Everyone!!! The Hooked Up has started the year off with some nice catches. We had Evan and his party from Ft. Lauderdale on board and they caught 2 nice 40 pound wahoo’s, then Mike and his group from Maryland landed a couple of kingfish. Later we had Dennis and Don from Iowa and they caught a tiger shark and a sailfish, nice job guys! Over the weekend we had Lynn from Ft. Myers on board and a nice sailfish was caught and then Barbara from Ft. Lauderdale caught 2 groupers and several snappers. What a way to start the New Year. Congratulations to everyone and there catches!

January 6-12

The sailfish are here!!! We started the week with Marcy and Jason from Idaho catching 2 nice sailfish, a 96” and an 85”. Then, on an afternoon trip, we had Miss Samantha Perez (10) from Claremont, Florida on board and she caught her first sailfish (88”). Congratulations and great job Samantha!!!

Next on board the Hooked Up were Jeff Kopaska and Craig Gilmore and they both landed nice sailfish. Jeff landed an 83” fish and Craig landed an 86” fish. They both had a great time catching their fish, taking pictures and then releasing the fish to fight again another day. Way to go guys and thanks for the email and pictures!

Late in the week we had Mike, Diann and Jeff from Indianapolis on board and they landed several dolphin fish. Then, over the weekend, we had Jerry, Joel, Neal and Greg from New Jersey and Philadelphia on board and I have to say they caught the most unusual fish, a lizardfish! Our last customers for the week were, Eugene, Scott and John from Denver, Chicago and Virginia and they landed a mutton snapper, Spanish mackerel and bonita. Thanks for a great week of fishing everyone!

January 13-19

There are still a lot of sailfish in the area. We had Mark from Davie, Florida on board early in the week and we are happy to say Mark landed an 85” sailfish. We also had Todd Bennett from Michigan on board and Todd caught and released a nice 89” sailfish. Nice work guys!!! Mid week we were part of a 4 boat convention and we were happy to do a catch and release of a really nice sailfish. Late in the week and into the weekend we had Neal, Chuck, Jim and Tim from Maryland, Connecticut and New Jersey on board and they landed a sailfish, kingfish and a bull shark. Then our last trip of this week was Dave and Frank from New Mexico and Texas and they landed a nice sailfish. Way to go everyone!

January 20-26

We started this week off catching dolphin fish. Our first group aboard was Marty and his friends from Connecticut, and they landed a couple of nice dolphin fish and then we had Katherine and her friends on board and they landed 3 nice dolphin fish. Next, we had a group of Todd Bennett’s guests on board and they caught a real nice 50” barracuda. At the end of the week, after a couple of really chilly days here in SE Florida, we had 2 really fun guys from Halifax, Massachusetts on board and they had a great time. Mel and Mike both landed an 89” sailfish and then they caught and released an 85” sailfish. Way to go Mel and Mike!

January 27-31

The last week of fishing in January brought some dolphin fish in and a few sailfish. We started the week out with Bill (The Diver), Drew and Valerie from Ft. Lauderdale on board the Hooked Up and they landed 2, 15 pound cow dolphin fish and a real nice 35 pound bull dolphin. Way to go! Next we had Dale Scott and his friends from Ohio on board and they landed a 10-pound dolphin fish and then caught and released 2 sailfish. Nice catch guys! Late in the week we had Phil and Ron Dove and Moe from New Jersey on board and they landed a sailfish, dolphin fish and a nice yellow eye snapper. Over the weekend we had Jeff from New Jersey and Gordon from New York with us and they caught a yellow eye snapper, strawberry grouper and a Toro snapper. We hope everyone enjoyed the fishing and we look forward to fishing with you again.
