February 2004 Fishing Report

While January was red hot for fishing, February turned cold! We did catch some nice fish, like dolphin fish, sailfish, blackfin tuna, amberjacks, kingfish, bonita's and sharks, but the fishing was hard and not everyone got to put fish in the boat.

We started off with George, Joe and Jay from Rhode Island and they landed a really nice dolphin and then Rick, Chris, Mark, Keith, and Rick who all work for Progressive and are located in Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio joined us and they caught a blackfin tuna. On the 6th we had Jesus, Anne and John from Texas and Norway out with us and they landed 2 almaco jacks and a file fish and then that afternoon we had Mike, Mike Jr and Jerry from Connecticut and they enjoyed catching several kingfish and a nice 52" amberjack. Next out was Greg and Thomas from Wisconsin and Pittsburg and they caught a bonita and a 102" golden hammerhead! Way to go guys!!! Our next customers were Elisa, Monica, Beth, Jeff, Rick and Kemp from Alcon Labs and they are located in Rhode Island, St. Louis, Kansas City, Indianappolis and Atlanta and they had a great time catching a 7 foot 125 pound golden hammerhead! Great Catch!!! Mid month we had a friend of ours Kevin Noels out with us and as well as Malecia from Washington DC and Malecia caught a kingfish while Kevin had the catch of the day! Kevin landed a really nice 76" Golden Hammerhead. Great Catch Kevin!! That afternoon Andrew, Glen , Brian, Chris, Jack and Jay from Boston went out and caught kingfish and bonita's. Mid month we has Dan, Dan Jr, Anto, Josh and Bart from Pennsylavania and New York out and they caught kingfish, a bonita and then fought and lost a really nice 300# thrasher shark. Some days the anglers win and some days it's the fish! On the 17th Rick, Janice and Dan from Chicago went out with us and they caught several kingfish and a nice sailfish! Then on the 20th, Patrick, Chris and Bill from Long Island were out with us and caught a nice kingfish. You guys were great, sorry the fishing was so hard. That afternoon we started our fishing weekend with Mike and Deb from Edisbill, Illinois. Mike and Deb fished with us from February 20 until the morning of February 23 and we had a great time with them. Fishing was tough but we did catch 2 nice amberjacks, several kingfish and a golden hammerhead shark! We went swordfishing the nights of February 21 and 22 and got a bite but the luck was not with us and we did not catch one. Mike and Deb we are looking forward to you coming back in April and we will put that swordfish in the boat!!! The morning of the 23rd Dan, Andy and Heather from Boston, Los Angelos and Ft. Lauderdale were out with us and they caught an amberjack and that afternoon Joe, Troy and Randy from Vermont landed a nice barracuda. At the end of the month Vinny, Mike and Vin from Brooklyn, New York caught 3 nice dolphin fish. Nice catch guys!!! On the 28th we had Steve, Cleve and John from Dallas, Texas and they had a great morning catching a nice dolphin fish and a huge sailfish! That afternoon Rick, Maureen and Ben from Massachusetts came aboard and caught a big amberjack and then on the last day of the month Emily fished with us in the morning and caught a dolphin and a jack and then that afternoon, Randall, Kathy, and Kenny from New York and Ft. Lauderdale were with us and they landed 7 jacks, a kingfish and a nice sailfish! Thanks to everyone that fished with the Hooked Up and we hope to see you again in the future!
